You need to ditch the corporate gym once and for all. Why? Let me explain.

To start with, corporate gyms just don’t work. Corporate gyms may have a lot of machines and be able to fit a lot of people, but you won’t really learn anything there. On top of the $50 gym membership fee, you may end up spending another $120 for a single session with a trainer who isn’t invested, hasn’t done any coursework, and has no way of showing what they have done in terms of education. At a gym like this, you ultimately get nowhere.

It’s time to start thinking about what you’re trying to achieve overall with your health. Like I tell people who come in to Icon, it is ultimately about quality of life, because that is the only thing that we have that is going to last us a lifetime.

Many people go into a corporate gym and don’t know how to use the machines. They are not picking up anything worthwhile and many times just get on the treadmill and walk for 30 minutes.

Many people don’t understand that to achieve long-term results in your health and fitness, strength training is necessary alongside cardio. Strength training will also help build your metabolism over time.

I find that people use their apartment gym or go to places like Gold’s Gym to train for two years only to be the exact same as when they started. During that two years at Gold’s Gym, meanwhile, they have spent $1,200 in membership fees. If they took that money and used at a place like Icon, where the workers actually care, and are willing to educate you on how to sustain your fitness routine over time, they would achieve results.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me.  I look forward to hearing from you guys soon so we can get you healthier today.
